5 Favorite Disneyland Snacks (and DCA too!)

Favorite Disneyland Snacks

EJ and I went to Disneyland/DCA (Disney California Adventure) a lot this year, for various reasons. And we snacked, a lot. If you’ve never been or haven’t been in a long time, you should try some of these out!

These are five of my favorite Disneyland/DCA Snacks:

SoCal – Food Trip

ice cream lab swank trips

After San Diego, EJ and I headed towards Long Beach to visit our best friends, Mar and Dianne. Since we go to that area often, I usually write about the places we eat and refer to that general area as SoCal (see post here and here). That’s a pretty general term we use for that area since we live in the Bay.

Anyway, we continued EJs birth-week celebration here and celebrated his actual birthday. No trip for us would be complete if not for the eating out! I admit we do this a lot, but that’s how we like to celebrate and socialize. We are social eaters. Which is one of the reasons I run a lot (not lately though). Here are some places we ate at per Mr Birthday Boy’s request:

San Diego – Food Trip

SD

After weeks of waiting for our next trip, we finally got out of the Bay and got a little taste of Southern California! This vacation was mainly for EJs birthday, but not just any birthday, his 30th Birthday! Yay for him =)

Honestly, this was a very last minute birthday trip he wanted and his criteria were 1) we would NOT spend too much on sights… aka Disneyland, 2) that we would not be held down to an itinerary (*ahem* me and my OCD planning), and 3) that we get to hang out with family and friends.

5 Reasons Why I Love Tieks

Tieks

(Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. Everything written is based on my own opinion.)

I don’t like them. I LOVE them! Ever since getting my first pair of Tieks in April, I’ve been hooked. I wear them all the time! A lot of people have asked me about them after seeing ads online and I tell everyone the same thing – I LOVE THEM! Here’s why: Continue reading

Journey to Arendelle and Asgard – Aug 2014

IMG_0026

The sole purpose of this trip was mainly for the Disneyland Half Marathon, but since we were going to be there for the the weekend, we got three-day passes again and explored some new territory we haven’t been before. Dianne was also able to hang out with us for a day =)

Disneyland Half Marathon – 31 Aug 2014

image_2

After running the Tinkerbell 10k this past January, and the Castaway Cay 5k later that same week, I felt like a half marathon was in my near future. I decided during the 10k that I was ready for the Disneyland Half Marathon, and maybe even the Dumbo Double Dare! But when registration opened up, I was a little late to get to a computer and the Dumbo was already sold out. So I settled with just the Half.

Disney’s Castaway Cay 5k … and the island itself!

IMG_4548

There’s no better way to see the Disney island of Castaway Cay then to run a 5k first thing in the morning!

I saw this run mentioned on different Disney forums while I was researching before the cruise and was super excited for it. We registered soon after getting on the ship, but they also allow people to register on the day of. Just make sure you have an ID and your room key. I think kids are allowed to register also. I forget the age limit, but there were kids around 10 years old that were running twice as fast as I was!

Espetus Churrascaria – San Mateo, CA

IMG_0031

For Alex’s 25th Birthday, we went to Espetus Churrascaria for dinner. EJ made reservations two weeks before for 5:30pm on a Thursday night. Seems early, but we work night shift, so it worked out perfectly with our schedules. This also seemed like a good time because when 6:30pm hit, a rush of people came in. I’m sure the rush will be worse on a weekend.

Disney Pin Trading

Have you ever walked around a Disney theme park and saw people with a necklace full of pins? They’re Disney pins traders!

Disney pins are sold at many Disney stores inside the parks and Downtown Disney stores as well. They are sold individually and in sets, but the fun part comes with the trading!

Maui – Old Lahaina Luau

DSC_4437

One of the first reservations I made when we planned our trip was a luau. I already knew I wanted to go to a luau while we were there, but when I asked EJ what he wanted to do on our actual anniversary, he said that he wanted to celebrate at a luau. So I booked it for the night of our two year anniversary!
